Being in love with video games his whole life, Joel Hopkins is the genius mind and creator behind Last Gamer, a dedicated YouTube channel for video game news, reviews and nostalgia from the 70s, 80s to current generation
Growing up in the 80s Joel was immersed in the Atari 2600, Commodore 64, Amiga, NES, Sega Master System and the list continues through to the modern generation of gaming consoles and platforms.
His love and passion for gaming became an obsession that has driven him to become the current Guinness World Record Holder for the Largest Video Game Collection. Currently boasting over 40,000 games, Joel started collecting as a young boy over 32 years ago.
“ I’m just a gamer. At the age of 8 I wanted to own and play every game ever released and here I am today, living my childhood dream. I want to share my experience, knowledge and passion with everyone.”
Joel’s infatuation with video games is so great that it is almost unimaginable. He has devoted years to growing his gaming and arcade collections, and building additional rooms to his home to restore and present this montage of gaming history.
“I set out to create a purpose built library and gaming room but is has grown way past that. It has become a museum.
It is the home to some of the rarest games and arcade machines in the world.”

With 5 dedicated rooms with total foot print of approximately 800 squares that includes a PC/ Computer Gaming Room, Modern Gaming Room, Retro and Simulator Room, Library and a purpose built Arcade Room “Flash Back”.
Joel’s passion is beyond an obsession, and with his natural charm and whit you cant help but to be drawn to his natural character.
